I'm going through that right now. In fact, I strained my lat prior to a powerlifting competition doing dead lifts. Good news is I still competed and won my division. Lat is still sore so I took off leg workout for this week. This happened to me before and it gets to the point that pull ups are too painful as mentioned above.
