Shirley Ryan AblityLab's outpatient care treats people of all ages and abilities. And we address a wide range of problems, from ankle sprains to complex stroke, from chronic illness to serious trauma. Typically, outpatients will participate in: 1 Physical, occupational and/or speech-language therapy 2 Fitting and use of assistive mobility devices such as wheelchairs 3 Fitting and use of a custom prosthesis or orthotic (a special brace) 4 Individual configuration and practice with assistive technology (for communication, for example). 5 Infant & early childhood care via our partners at Pathways.org

Funding Campaign Fuels the Project
The AbilityLab capital campaign, launched in 2013, had an initial fundraising goal of $300 million. Following the gift by Shirley W. and Patrick G. Ryan, the largest charitable investment in the organization’s 64-year history, RIC increased its campaign goal from $300 million to $350 million.
