When released in 2011, Novak continued to struggle with drugs and was subsequently homeless for years until he had one last successful stint in a treatment facility in 2015. Novak claims he's been sober ever since. Novak wrote a follow-up book to Dreamseller chronicling his most recent struggles with drug addiction. Though it is yet to be released, Novak announced in September 2016 that it will be published in the near future.
