What are the components of an inpatient drug rehab program?

Two key components of the inpatient drug and alcohol rehab program are the practice of mindfulness and the use of body-centered therapies. Mindfulness is simply a way of relating purposefully and directly, in the present moment, to whatever is happening in life in a non-judgmental way.

How does mindfulness help with emotional health?

The practice of mindfulness helps patients develop present moment awareness and distress-tolerance skills. It also contributes to an overall sense of well-being. Body-centered therapies help patients experience their physical selves and how that relates to their emotional and spiritual lives.

Mirmont Treatment Center is located in a suburb of Lima, just outside Philadelphia, PA. Unlike other treatment protocols that follow “a day at a time” approach, Mirmont focuses on helping alcohol and drug abusers regain sobriety and health by focusing on “a moment at a time.”

The treatment center operates under the Main Line Health network which consists of a number of non-profit treatment centers and hospitals employing over 2,000 doctors. The center offers full and long-lasting recovery to its patients by utilizing holistic approaches to treatment such as acupressure, yoga, reflexology, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). The facility employs a one day at a time strategy for clients in need of recovery by helping them focus on healing their mind, body, and soul. At the Mirmont Treatment Center, a treatment plan is designed which is individualized to suit the patient’s needs. This teaches the patients effective coping skills to manage stress and maintain their sobriety. Psychiatric assessment and holistic/medical detoxification (which aims to reduce withdrawal symptoms and ease the detox process) is available on site after which clients may choose to join the inpatient, partial hospitalization or outpatient treatment program. The facility boasts of a trauma-informed nursing staff available 24/7, qualified doctors, and psychiatrists.

Mirmont Treatment Center costs approximately $16,800 for a 28-day treatment. Insurance is accepted if that is the mode of payment chosen but any costs left will be billed to the client. Help is available if clients are experiencing a hard time trying to foot the bills; financial counselors are available to help such clients through the process, arranged payments can also be made. The hospital advises patients to check insurance plans before submitting for verification as some plans don’t cover the complete bill. How many residents does the Lima Center have?

The facility is capable of housing up to 111 residents and includes comfort recreational lounges, a fully-equipped gym, a meditation garden, an on-site bookstore, and vegetable garden which the residents at the facility help to tend to. The bedrooms are well furnished and usually accommodate up to three residents. Additionally, the rooms have private bathrooms, great natural lighting, and a beautiful view of the natural scenery. The length of the resident’s stay usually depends on their particular needs. A usual day at the facility often entails a 7:00 am early wake-up and breakfast at 7:30 am. Activities like yoga, meditation, and treatment can be observed during the day and at 11:00 pm residents are to return to their rooms.#N#Meals are prepared to be balanced and nutritious and are served in a facility dining hall. The facility provides free snacks and refreshments for residents throughout the day which may consist of juice, soft drinks, and other beverages. Laundry services are provided for the residents at the facility. Revealing clothing and electronic devices are prohibited at the facility but residents are allowed to bring alcohol-free, essential items, spiritual reading materials, and money for vending machines and payphones.

Structured treatment and support are provided to clients while they live in their homes. The program takes place thrice a week.

What is an outpatient program?

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

What is aftercare in rehab?

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school ). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

What is CBT therapy?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

What is medically assisted detox?

Medically Assisted Detox: Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged.

At our Mirmont Outpatient Centers we treat patients suffering from substance abuse and mental health disorders using a holistic, comprehensive approach to care with treatment plans tailored to individuals' needs. The outpatient addiction treatment team consists of a medical director who is a board-certified psychiatrist, and may include a variety of addiction therapists and nurses.
