DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

What is CCS counseling?

CCS clients who require individual counseling services are connected to dedicated addiction counselors. During one-on-one sessions, addiction counselors use the client’s evaluation and rehab plan to guide him or her through the process of exploring, verbalizing and working through addiction-related issues. The undivided attention that clients experience during individual counseling sessions equip them to achieve lasting sobriety and healing.

What is aftercare at Caron Renaissance?

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn’t spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Caron Renaissance patients can count on them to remain by their sides after treatment. They do everything possible to equip each patient for sober living before treatment ends and through the first year of recovery. One week prior to discharge, every patient at Caron Renaissance receives personalized Continuing Care planning in order to maximize their abilities to live lives of sobriety, serenity, and sustained recovery.

How does detox work?

Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body , a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. At Caron Pennsylvania, patients undergo detox in an on-site, self-contained detoxification unit. Caron Renaissance is not an acute care facility and therefore does not offer detox services on site; however, they can arrange for transfers from hospitals and other healthcare centers once patients have finished detoxing.
