The mission of the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is the conservation and preservation of all species of marine turtles, both in the water and on the beach.
Why are X-rays important for sea turtles?
X-Rays — “radiographs” — are important tools for sea turtle rehabilitation. Radiographs have helped us diagnose, treat, and monitor everything from broken bones to pneumonia to osteolysis to hook ingestion.

- Three home-cooked meals are served to residents every day. The meals are prepared from a menu designed by a nutritionist. The food leans more towards health than comfort. Residents can have caffeine and sugar in moderation.
Treatment Program
- The treatment approach utilizes CBT and DBT but does not include EMDR. Detox is also not offered. Karen’s Place, however, does provide support for dual diagnosis disorder.
