This holistic approach utilizes traditional treatments for addiction, as well as Yoga, Acupuncture, Rapid Resolution Trauma Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques Therapy (EFT). The emphasis of treatment at The Beachcomber is on personal contact. Our therapists provide our patients with focused attention. There are approximately seven hours of therapy per day, seven days a week. This includes group therapy daily, as well as seminars ranging in topics such as the disease concept of addiction, sexual dysfunction, relapse prevention and interpersonal relations. In addition, there are two scheduled individual sessions weekly, plus the casual therapy which goes on in a continuous manner throughout our family-like setting. The impact of alcoholism and addiction on spirit, the spiritual, is often difficult to understand and confront. Patient spirituality is treated as a clear component of recovery. Our ratio of one Counselor-Therapist on staff to every three residents insures prompt professional attention to individual needs and priorities. All meals are planned and prepared by The Beachcomber's cuisine staff and are served in family style dining. Special dietary needs are accommodated.
