Results from these studies suggested that counselors with master’s degrees in rehabilitation counseling (or closely related fields) produce better outcomes for clients with severe disabilities as compared to counselors without such educational preparation. These findings underscored the importance of mastering the knowledge and skill domains essential to rehabilitation counseling practice through formal education.
