Who develops CRP certification?
BAI Center for Certification developed the CRP Examination and is the sole sponsor of the CRP Continuing Professional Education Program which maintains and processes CPE records and collects all annual certification renewal fees. BAI Center for Certification also establishes monitors and approves CPE hours.
Why are CRPs inactive?

What is contact hours?
Contact hours are the actual hours spent in connection with an activity. One contact hour represents one hour of active involvement in an educational activity. Time spent in breaks or at lunch does not qualify as contact hours unless further educational activity is provided (e.g., luncheon speaker). One contact hour is equivalent to one CPE credit hour, unless otherwise stated by a continuing education sponsor.
Does BAI Center for Certification collect CPE?
In all cases, BAI Center for Certification will not collect or maintain specific documentation on CPE courses or activities to evidence completion of an individual’s CPE requirements. This means the CRP must maintain his or her own documentation for each CPE activity.
Exam Requirements & Preparation
The multiple-choice exam is an open-book assessment that is administered at the end of each course and will be graded by the facilitator if the course is being take on site. All CRP courses also are available online as well, and testing is also part of the online option. Each course is self-paced and takes an average of 4-6 hours each.
Recertification
Graduates of the Certified Recognition Professionals® (CRP) designation must meet education requirements and pay a recertification fee every three years to maintain their CRP. The recertification fee is $150 for each three-year cycle, and this is paid at the time of recertification.
