I regret joining the military

I honestly and wholeheartedly wish I never joined the military...the amount of mental damage and strain on my life and my family was never with it. Then, I got out just to make the VA “try to believe” the effects of my service on my life are actually “real”. It’s like trying to convince a dog that the sky is blue.

RIP Jack Ferris

My flag is at half-mast today. My good friend Jack Ferris died a year ago today. Jack was a WWII B24 Navigator. We joined together for breakfast monthly with other Warbirds - air combat experience. Warbirds was started in Astoria, OR at the end of WWII. Jack was a gentleman of the old school and a good and true friend.

I looked at my rating on eBenefits Friday morning and I went from 60% to 100%p&t. This changes everything for me and allows myself and my spouse to focus on other things (recovery) instead of the constant stress that comes with financial insecurities.
