2 months sober !

So far have quit just about 2 months. Honestly feel great. No more hangovers or blackouts and not rembering what happened. Mental health has improved. The cravings only lasted about 4 weeks but diet tonic water and club soda with lime have really helped with the cravings. Honestly feeling really good and don't miss it at all.

I'm not okay

I feel like I'm flirting with death. I'm truly not okay. The amount of liquor I'm drinking should have killed me, or someone else already.

Almost at 15 days sober and this dumb speech had been my rock

This is probably a silly post but I'm almost past my two week mark and wanted to share something that has been helping me. It's the president's address during the movie Armageddon...

Beginning my taper, onwards to sobriety!

So, a bit of background, I suppose, is a good place to start. I'm 35, been drinking fairly heavily since I was about 25. When it go really bad, during quarantine, I started getting withdrawal symptoms (panic attacks, sweating, vomiting... you know, the usual) and it scared me. So I managed to quit for a little while.

When I drink, it feels like immediate relief

There’s no other way for me to explain it, really. I was sober at one point for over a year. At another point 10 months. Lately I can’t get past 1.5 week. I know I’m an alcoholic. I go back and forth with accepting it but deep down I know.
