Is the staff at the YMCA friendly?
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Very professional. The company as a whole could do better to value their employees financially. Not very many opportunities for advancement or raises.
Is Spaulding a good nursing job?
Depending on what floor you work on depends on your stress level. Spaulding is a great place to start off your career, very friendly nursing staff and very helpful. Would not recommend for long term, the pay does not equal to the level of stress and the amount of work.

An amazing place to work. Supportive environment and colleagues. The clinical ladder has opportunities for advancement in healthcare. Supportive staff in decision making. The new grad has to work from bottom up but a great way to gain experience.
No appreciation for nurses from higher managment
Decent pay, inadequate nurse-patient ratio- up to 10 patients overnight. Constantly understaffed. Extremely high nursing turnover. Managment does not support nurses.
Inspiring workplace
Amazing place to work with a lot of inspiring stories. New and up to date equipment. Good team work. Could pay better for staff PTs. I was prn and compensated well.
Teamwork
Good teamwork’ everyone want to help and there is always something to learn. It is always excited about what am I going to learn everyday.I like the patient pollination the complex and they are good for new grad.
Welcoming Environment
Great team dynamic between nurses and PCAs. PCAs are able to handle a lot of patient care and transfers. Loved working here because the workplace culture was always positive.
Look elsewhere unless you're desperate
The best part of this job is definitely seeing the progression of patients recovering from their accident or surgery to being back to their baseline. There are no rotating shifts compared to many hospitals nearby. Depending on the unit you work on and who the staff are, it can be a hit or miss.
Gets old
Very cool place to work. If you are working with the PTs, OTs, SLPs, nursing, or any caregiver role you will learn a lot. Wide patient population and you will get experience with all types of treatment for various injuries or sicknesses. My big complaint is there is a lot of workplace politics and treatment is not consistent among all employees.
