97 Year Old WWII Vet went with a bang!

My Dad, a 97 year old WWII Army Vet living in New Orleans passed in the middle of Hurricane Ida (early Sunday Morning). It was pretty quick, mostly painless, and he had lots of good folks and family around to care for him. We told him we loved him, and that it was ok to go.

I finally can stop thinking about servicemembers in Afghanistan

I deployed to Afghanistan in 03. Every day since I have left the Corps, all I could think about every day is the guys who are sitting on that mountain top eating some bullshit MRE watching the mountains for enemy. With help I was able to get it down to just a 15-minute thought in the morning with my coffee.
