My job duties included registering, discharging and updating patients charts if they moved from one room to another or updating family contacts in their charts. Also spoke to family members in regards to their loved ones registration information which may include them signing their paperwork once registered.
Intense Neurological and Brain Injury Caseload
Patients are seen for 1 hour to 1.5 hours by PT/OT/SLP for a total of 3 hours each day. I learned so much specifically on how to work with neurological patients and brain injury patients. I have advanced training in this population. Management is around throughout the day and is available. Co-workers are wonderful and very talented.
Excellent environment for improving skills & knowledge as well as advancement opportunities
A typical day is very busy, depending on the nurse to patient ratio. I really enjoyed my co-workers and management; they were always helpful. The hardest part of the job was the adjustment period of my time management but once I found my routine it became a lot easier.

RCH makes you work for your money. High paying job, but can get extremely busy. Management will try to send help from other departments to get the job done. Staff is very helpful most of the time.
Is Riverside County a good place to work?
Riverside county is all in all a good place to work. I feel supported in my role as registered nurse. Definitely a place to advance your career if you choose to. Compensation is not as good as surrounding hospitals but you get great experience as a new nurse.
Does management support staff?
Management does not support the staff and will continually try to exploit staff forcing them to work in unsafe conditions. The way the hospital is run is unorganized and it makes getting jobs done more difficult than they need to be.
