Can I get GI Bill for higher education?
Your GI Bill is not the only way you can pay for higher education. Fortunately, with Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment), you can now receive benefits to pay for your education. Your eligibility depends on just two things; firstly, if you have a service-connected disability rating of at least 10% (“serious” employment handicap). Secondly, if you have a rating of over 20% (with employment handicap) and do not have a dishonorable discharge.

Structure
Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services combines the general and the blind vocational rehabilitation programs in a single unit. Montana state law allows the combined approach, and it also requires separate services for blind and visually impaired clients.
Staff Members
Our Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and Instructors must hold a master’s degree and the ability to sit for certification in order to be qualified for their jobs. These professionals are supported by other professionals including administrative support, specialists, program managers, supervisors, and trainees.
VOC REHAB COUNSELOR COMMUNICATION TIPS
Much of this problem is premised on a veteran’s failure to communicate in writing with their counselors. Veterans tend to focus only on oral communication, which is a mistake. Written communications are always better when it comes to moving the ball (your claim) forward.

Easy to see why veteran suicide rates are so high
Honestly, I completely understand why veterans get out and decide to kill themselves after a few years… After countless horrible exchanges with the VA about claims or help that is never going to come it is literally just inevitable death by 1000 bureaucratic paper cuts… I am not suicidal but I do not begrudge those veterans who are as I am much more aware of why some vets decide to just end it as opposed to continue on dealing with bureaucratic red tape and nightmares that is the VA, VSO’s, or whatever low bid shit evaluation service they contract out to..
Do you notice guys you deployed with lying about their military service?
I’m noticing more and more guys who I was deployed with lying about their time in service on social media. Guys claiming ranger or sniper when we were just regular infantrymen. Another guy saying he was on two tours when he really did just one. I can only imagine the made up stories some of these guys are saying to people in the real world.
