Groups meet at 9 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. and provide a supportive process group for individuals who have both a substance abuse or dependence diagnosis and a psychiatric diagnosis. Participants have also demonstrated a period of recovery even though their clinical history might include a recent relapse. We address the processing of stressors, the development of symptom recognition and redirection and stress management skills. Participants work toward demonstrating and understanding the co-occurring concept of addiction and involved symptoms, and build relapse prevention skills with a related plan. They also learn the importance of intra-group and community based support.
