Vocational Rehabilitation (Voc-Rehab). We’ve all heard the term, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we know just exactly what it is.

The easiest way to apply for Vocation Rehabilitation benefits from the VA is to apply online. The ebenefits website provides a link to VONAPP, the VA’s online application grand central stations. If you do not already have a VONAPP account, it is quite easy to get one.

So just what are the Voc-Rehab benefits?

Ok, so what exactly are the Voc-Rehab benefits? Once the veteran has established entitlement, he or she draws up a contract with the Voc-Rehab Counselor. The veteran and the counselor work together to determine which job skills the veteran possess, in addition to relevant aptitudes and interests.

What is VoC rehab?

Voc rehab, on the other hand, recognizes the physical and mental challenges invoked by the military. As opposed to the GI Bill, which is bestowed on you, voc rehab is an assistance program, thereby having different constraints.

Can I get GI Bill for higher education?

Your GI Bill is not the only way you can pay for higher education. Fortunately, with Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment), you can now receive benefits to pay for your education. Your eligibility depends on just two things; firstly, if you have a service-connected disability rating of at least 10% (“serious” employment handicap). Secondly, if you have a rating of over 20% (with employment handicap) and do not have a dishonorable discharge.
