The Acute Care Unit (ACU) provides 30 beds for detoxification/crisis stabilization services forpatients in our catchment area. This unit provides medically monitored services to substanceuse patients and those with co-occurring disorders as well as psychiatric stabilization. Bothinvoluntary and voluntary admissions are considered. Patients requiring a higher level of careare referred to other medically managed facilities. Referrals are made primarily throughEmergency Departments, other inpatient programs, Facility Crisis Programs and in conjunctionwith judicial commitment. The interdisciplinary team provides clinical services for each patient.
