You should be good to get the CHL. The bar to getting a CHL is for a Class A or B misdemeanor conviction or conviction for disorderly conduct. A conviction includes deferred adjudication in this context. You don't have a conviction and should be OK.

You have not technically had a DWI since you were not convicted. (Had you gotten probation, you would have been convicted.) Talk with someone at the licensing agency about your situation and see what they suggest. Yours should show up as an arrest and a dismissal.
