I appreciate your advice. Most my anxiety is life issues not so much meth clinic issues. I was panicking for some weird reason. My thing is this the time to move on from methadone as all family around me say it has put a toll on me.

If you are serious about getting off the methadone, I would suggest that you taper down to around 20mg then switching from there. You would still have to find a doctor to prescribe it and would at least need to be off the methadone 48 hours. So most likely you would need to be starting to withdrawal before you want to make the switch.

Thats awesome you got completely clean. How long in the rehab were you. I'm not 100% sure. I'm 100% sure that I don't like being a slave to methadone and the clinic. I know its a big decision. I have 360 mgs of methadone starting tomarrow n thirty eight 5 mg ocycodones from a tooth surgery 2 years ago. I take 45 mgs a day of methadone.

aGoobIRL Silver Member

I think they usually suggest going down 10% at a time (every 7-10 days), so roughly 5 mg for you I think? Sorry, I'm not good at math. I totally understand wanting to just get off of Methadone, especially when these sort of set backs happen.
